The Iconic Royal House of Labeija and the Kiki House of Louboutin are both Houses from the Major and Kiki Ballroom Scene respectively originally from New York which both have chapters in Costa Rica. The House of Labeija is best known for being the Pioneering Ballroom House back in late 60’s early 70’s when Krystal Labeija started to throw her balls in Harlem, providing a safe space where black and latin transgender women (Femme Queens) and other members of the community would be celebrated and appreciated when society would not.
